3 Reasons to Come Root for Matt at the Devour Phoenix Bartending Competition

February 5, 2018

Come cheer for Matt, stay for the booze. Happening on February 25 at DeSoto Central Market in Downtown Phoenix from 3pm to 6pm, the Devour Phoenix Bartending Competition will pin the finest in Phoenix mixology against each other as nine of The Valley’s top bartenders will vie for the glorious title of “best bartender.”

You Can Sample Craft Spirits

But not just any craft spirits. Craft spirits made right here in the Copper State. Matt and the lineup of competing bartenders will be mixing and shaking up cocktails made with the best local and Arizona spirits, including Whiskey Del Bac by Hamilton Distillers, Three Wells Distilling Company, 3 Amigos Tequila and OHSO Distillery. Bartenders aren’t the only ones with access to these fine spirits. You can enjoy cocktails made with the local liquors on the patio throughout the duration of the event.

Your Attendance Supports Local Cocktail Culture

Not only will you be able sample spirits from some of the best bars around town, your attendance directly supports Arizona’s local cocktail scene. All proceeds from the event support the non-profit work of the Local First Arizona Foundation. The non-profit celebrates independent, locally-owned businesses. The foundation advocates for a strong business community and raises public awareness of both the cultural and economic benefits provided by strong local economies.

The Party Doesn’t Stop Once the Competition Is Over

DeSoto Central Market is located just 3.4 miles away from our Central Phoenix location. After all of the excitement of the competition is over, come unwind with us on the Hula’s patio. Bike, rideshare, or lightrail your way over for a tiki-filled afternoon.

Will you be joining us? It’s sure to be a Hula-va good time. Make sure to tag all of your tiki-tastic photos with our tags!

Can’t make it to the Devour Phoenix Bartending Competition? Catch Dana and the Hula’s crew next month at the 2018 Devour Culinary Classic at its new venue, the Desert Botanical Garden.
