Hula’s Mai Tai
Made with all of the fixings of a classic tropical cocktail, our Hula’s Mai Tai delights and pleases from its aroma to its taste. Not your typical Mai Tai, our take is strong and limey. Comprised of Appleton's Gold Rum, orange curacao, pineapple and lime juice, orgeat and a splash of top rum, this cocktails is an easy sipper with a bit of a bite.
Somebody call a doctor, things are about to get funky. This tiki cocktail is a true original as tiki experts cite that is was created before Don the Beachcomber on Trader Vic emerged on the tiki scene. So who was this guy? Here’s what we know. Dr. Funk was a real person. He went by the name Dr. Bernhard Funk, and yes he was a real doctor. Dr. Funk, physician and mixologist, was said to have dreamed up this cocktail while he was stationed in the South Pacific. The original called for lime juice, absinthe and seltzer. At Hula’s we offer up the signature tiki drink with coconut rum, vodka, creme de banana and a splash of orange and pineapple juices.
Because three rums are better than one, and that’s what it takes to mix this boozy libation together. Our Hula’s Hurricane combines three rums infused with vanilla bean and pineapple and is topped off with tropical juices and a splash of dark rum.
